Information on how to correctly measure for custom rodeo chaps.
All Youth & Adult Rodeo Chaps require three primary measurements;
1) WAIST
- Measure around the portion of the waist that you desire for your new chaps to ride. Some like them a bit lower, some higher. A general rule of thumb is around the base of the the belt loops. All chaps will have adjustable back belts and front strap adjustment to allow for changes.
2) UPPER THIGH
- Measure around the largest portion of your upper thigh. All chaps do come standard with three adjustable leg straps for further adjustment.
3) OUTSEAM
- By far the most important and most common mistake made. Do not guess. Do not provide blue jean measurements. We require you to provide us with the true outseam measurement as shown above. Even if you are giving the chaps as a gift, it is better to be safe than sorry. Use a cloth tape measure and go from the top of the waist down the OUTSIDE of the leg to the floor with boots on. The measurement you provide for the outseam will include fringe.
*Certain Kids & Youth Chaps are only available in set outseams as indicated in each product listing. Be sure to reference the above image to be sure they will fit correctly.
